"As the name 'Sweetfish Festival' suggests, the event includes activities related to sweetfish, such as the sweetfish rod fishing grand prize and catch-and-release events. The fireworks launched from the Takatsu River echo against the surrounding mountain ridges, creating a loud and impressive sound, also referred to as 'Sound of Nihara.' The proximity of the launch site to the viewing area allows for a close-up experience of the spectacular bursts and the reflection of lights on the clear stream's surface, making the fireworks truly magnificent. It attracts a large number of spectators every year.
