Let's see three types of cherry blossoms at Nanokoshimine overlooking the sacred site
At an altitude of 260m, Nanokoshimine offers a panoramic view of Hongu below. The view from Nanokoshimine in spring is exceptionally beautiful, with cherry blossoms dyed in pale pink hues. Among the blossoms, the large torii gate of Kumano Hongu Taisha, surrounded by forests, can be seen. Visitors can enjoy approximately 800 Somei Yoshino and Shidare-zakura (from mid-March), as well as the Kumano-zakura, which was designated as a new species in 2018 (from early March). Viewing the Nanokoshimine cherry blossoms from the Hongu side, across the Kumano River with the large torii gate in the background, is fantastical.
