Special Exhibition 'The Great Presence of the Kii Tokugawa Family'

The history and charm of the Three Great Families: The Kii Tokugawa Family
The Kii Tokugawa family governed the Kii domain, which spread across present-day Wakayama Prefecture and the southern part of Mie Prefecture, and was the lord of Wakayama Castle during the Edo period. Along with Owari and Mito, they supported the shogunate as one of the three main houses, producing the eighth shogun Yoshimune and the fourteenth shogun Iemochi. This special exhibition introduces the history of the Kii Tokugawa family through related materials.
