Kannonji Wind Chime Festival

In the past, wind bells called 'futako' were hung from the eaves of the temple on all four sides. When the wind blew, the wind bells would ring with a 'karan-kalan' sound. The purpose of these wind chimes is to drive away the summer heat and ward off disasters, allowing people to live each day with a peaceful heart, which is the wish behind the Wind Chime Festival. At Kannonji Temple, you can enjoy various types of wind chimes. The wind chimes come with small strips of paper, so be sure to write down your wishes. The wind chimes you purchase can be taken back to your home or offered and hung at the temple. ■Notes From June 14th (Saturday) to June 22nd (Sunday), it will be held simultaneously with the hydrangea festival.

On July 12th (Saturday) afternoon there will be a Zen meditation meeting, and on August 12th (Monday) morning, the Obon memorial service will make viewing unavailable.
