Reiwa Year 7 Tenryō Jōge Tango no Sekku Festival

During the Edo period, Jōge Town became a direct territory of the Tokugawa Shogunate and prospered in finance. The town still retains traces of that time. Various festival dolls and helmets from the end of the Edo period to today are plentiful. These festival dolls and helmets are displayed in shops and houses throughout the town, welcoming visitors to Jōge Town, which shows a different side than usual. The nationally registered tangible cultural property Okina Theatre exhibits armor and helmets, creating a photogenic space. Additionally, the Jōge Historical and Cultural Museum offers armor wearing experiences on weekends only. ■Notes During the festival period, both the registered tangible cultural properties "Okina Theatre" and "Jōge Historical and Cultural Museum" are open every day.
