Narita has been known as a city of unagi, passing down its unique food culture since the Edo period through inns and restaurants. The festival, which is held in the form of a stamp rally for about a month and a half in line with the summer Doyo no Ushi no Hi, allows participants to receive one stamp for every 1,000 yen spent at participating shops. Collecting three stamps and applying for a drawing gives a chance to win travel tickets, accommodation vouchers, dining coupons, etc. Additionally, during the period, traditional Japanese umbrellas will be available for rent along Omotesando, providing a cool and elegant way to stroll through the historic townscape.
