Iwaya-ji Grand Festival & Iwaya-ji Market (September)

Traditional event held at an ancient temple in Chita
A major festival held on the 17th of every month at Iwaya-ji, the head temple of the Owari Koya sect. Goma prayer ceremony starts at 9 AM at the Okunoin. The prayer service and dharma talk will be held around 11 AM at the main hall. Limited goshuin (temple stamps) available only for those who participate in the flag procession from Okunoin to the main hall. On the day, there will be vegetable and blade stalls in front of the gate. A market will be held in the temple grounds. Sales from food to merchandise, enjoyable for the whole family.
