New Fukuoka Early Music Festival 2025 Early Music Course: Ancient Instruments, Recorder Edition

You can't tell a flute by its appearance
You can't tell a flute by its appearance – tracing the history of the recorder through its inner diameter. For the performance of the instrument, the shape of the inner tube that has been hollowed out, the 'inner diameter', is far more important than its appearance! What does the history visible from the inside of the recorder look like? We will unravel this while incorporating demonstrations using various recorders. The instructor is Rei Inoue (recorder player). Prior application is required.
