Niitsu Summer Festival

The scenery of singing and dancing the folk song 'Niitsu Matsusaka' in the streets has become a summer tradition in Niitsu and is famous as a colorful aspect of summer in Echigo. The Niitsu Yatai Matsuri features gorgeous floats that move around and an intense, powerful festival with fierce clashes. Various religious ceremonies and events are held mainly in the old Niitsu city area, and during this period, many local people eagerly visit to enjoy the arrival of summer.
