Evening of Unnan Izumo Kagura (December)

Kagura born and handed down in the Izumo region
Izumo Kagura is believed to have originated from the dance of 'Ameno Uzume no Mikoto,' who wished for the appearance of Amaterasu Omikami, who hid in the rock cave. Currently, there are many Kagura troupes in Unnan City, which are passed down as local folk arts. At the Unnan City Ancient Iron Song Hall, different troupes are invited monthly to perform regular shows. In December, the Nishihinoto Kagura Troupe will perform, showcasing a solemn dance. ■Notes The performance schedule may change; please check the Unnan City Ancient Iron Song Hall website or similar sources.
