A handmade summer festival by the townspeople signaling the arrival of summer in Amami
The rowing competition held under the shining sun of Amami, followed by stage performances and the traditional August Dance as dusk approaches, culminates in a fireworks festival. This summer festival, handmade by the residents, kicks off the summer festival season of Amami Oshima.
