Higashino Sumiyoshi Festival
Exciting races unfold on the sea
An annual festival held on August 13, the Higashino Sumiyoshi Shrine festival. A spectacular sea race with a tradition of 200 years and kayak rowing competitions are held centered around Shiramizu Port, and at night, the coastline is warmly illuminated by lanterns for the night festival. The finale features an exciting fireworks display of about 2,000 shots over the sea. ■Notes Please be aware that ferry services will not be increased. The last ferry departs from Tarumi Port at 21:05. If you want to view the fireworks, please consider staying overnight.
