Kotanbetsu Midorigaoka Park Cherry Blossom Festival

This is one of the leading cherry blossom spots in the Rumoi region, located on a high ground where you can overlook the city of Kotanbetsu. When spring fully arrives, cherry blossoms, daffodils, azaleas, and magnolias bloom successively, and in about half a month, approximately 1,000 cherry trees will be in full bloom. On the final day of the cherry blossom festival, main events such as a karaoke show and food and drinks at the genghis khan corner will be held.

Access

Head north on R232 from Rumoi, enter R239 at Kamihira, and go to Kotanbetsu. Turn left at the agricultural cooperative stand intersection; guiding signs are available.

Access (Public)

Take the coastline bus from Rumoi Station, transfer to the Kotanbetsu-bound bus at Kamihira Terminal, and get off at Kotanbetsu Terminal; it takes about 5 minutes on foot.
