Surrounded by clear streams and mountains, the castle town of Akizuki is referred to as 'Little Kyoto of Chikuzen.' Around the ruins of Akizuki Castle, known as the 'Black Gate,' there are about 50 maple trees. Passing through the Black Gate and enjoying the colorful maples while progressing up the stone steps will lead you to Suiyo Shrine. The contrast of the maple leaves and the Black Gate is incredibly beautiful, attracting many tourists each year.
