Enjoy the fusion of Wajima lacquer techniques and art.
The artist, who was affected by the major earthquake that struck the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture on January 1, 2024, is currently evacuated and continuing activities in 'Shika Town,' about an hour's drive from Wajima. They have been active as a painter for over 10 years. Having also been a Wajima lacquer artist, they have created and sold around 1,200 works using gold powder, gold leaf, and shells that are used in Wajima lacquer, including oil paintings and prints, mainly online. Let's go see the unique works that are characteristic of Noto Wajima, which you won't find anywhere else.
