Kyoto Arashiyama June Young Ayu Festival 2025

A cultural event announcing the arrival of summer: Young Ayu Festival 2025
The Arashiyama Young Ayu Festival, held at Nakanojima Park next to the iconic Togetsukyo bridge in Kyoto's tourist destination Arashiyama, marks its 38th edition this year after a 4-year hiatus. On one day only, 400 young ayu will be available at a charity event where individuals donating 1,500 yen or more can taste grilled young ayu cooked over charcoal. There will be an ayu catching experience, an 'SDGs awareness booth' featuring water-related experiments, and a 'children's festival' with games like shooting and medaka fish scooping, providing fun for the whole family from kids to adults.
