Chagu Chagu Umako

Michi-no-ku Iwate's early summer tradition
The "Chagu Chagu Umako" is named for the sound of bells that jangle with every step. Horses dressed in gorgeous outfits parade with adorable children on their backs, forming the early summer tradition of Michi-no-ku. The sight of about 100 horses parading is breathtaking! There are also parades, photo sessions with the horses, traditional performances, and a variety of horse-related events to see.
