Born in Geihoku, Masakatsu was recognized for his high skills as a swordsmith by the Hiroshima han at the end of the Edo period and is said to have moved to this place after training as a swordsmith in Kyoto. Currently, part of the garden remains and a monument has been established. The ancient cherry tree in front of the monument blooms brilliantly in spring, captivating the eyes of passersby. The variety is Edohigan, and some weeping characteristics can also be observed. It is characterized by a slightly darker flower color.
