Heart Cherry Blossoms at Kasuga Shrine

The cherry blossoms that look like hearts are a popular spot in spring
It is said that in the second year of the Bunji era (1186), the Fujiwara clan, who came down as the provincial governor of Suō, enshrined a spirit of the Kasuga Shrine in Nara, which is their ancestral deity. The Yoshino cherry blossoms (named with the meaning of 'sun that brings blessings to the world') bloom from mid to late March. This cherry blossom has become a popular photography spot due to its heart-like appearance from certain angles.
