[Autumn Foliage - Peak Viewing] Nakano Momiji-yama

The breathtaking view woven by maple trees over 100 years old

Nakano Momiji-yama

Late Oct~Early Nov

In 1802, Lord Tsugaru Neyoshin of the Hirosaki domain is said to have started Nakano Momiji-yama by transplanting over 100 species of seedlings from Kyoto. Within the grounds of Nakano Shrine, one of the three Fudō of Tsugaru, there are maple trees over 200 years old, a large cedar tree aged 600 years (designated as a natural monument of the city), and twin fir trees over 200 years old (designated as a natural monument of the prefecture), all radiating a mystical beauty. The Fudō Falls visible from the red bridge, the splendid autumn leaves, and the emotionally rich Nakano Shrine and large cedar create an enchanting beauty from any angle.
