Monthly Festival Youkasan - Flower Festival

Flower festival celebrating the birth of the Buddha on April 8th
Held in conjunction with the monthly festival 'Youkasan'. Celebrated on April 8th, the day of the birth of the Buddha. At Ibhata Yakushi, a flower shrine is displayed in front of the main hall for the celebration (from April 1 to 10). Pouring sweet tea on the small statue of the newborn Buddha placed in the flower shrine is based on the legend that nine dragons poured pure water from heaven to bathe the Buddha at his birth. The day's schedule includes a monthly festival ceremony, a talk by the temple head, and free udon serving.
