Located on a small hill, it offers a panoramic view of Hiroshima city and the Seto Inland Sea. The park features facilities such as the "Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art", inspired by traditional Japanese buildings called "kura", and the "Hiroshima City Manga Library" where you can enjoy manga while tracing its history. It is also famous as an art park with many sculptures. Overflowing with nature, it is particularly renowned as a cherry blossom spot, and during the season when about 1300 cherry trees bloom, many people visit Hijiyama Park to appreciate its beauty.

Take the Hiroshima Electric Railway tram from Hiroshima Station front to "Hiroshima Port" via "Hijiyama-shita", and get off at "Hijiyama-shita", about a 5-minute walk.
