Chen Chinyao Exhibition 'Women of the Battlefield'

The history and present of painters who lived in Japan, China, and Taiwan
Chen Chinyao, born in Taiwan in 1976, creates works that address the times, trends, and social systems while incorporating laughter and humor. This exhibition references the works of female painter, Chen Jin, who was born during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, and indicates the current state of the tripartite relationship between Japan, China, and Taiwan. Additionally, new works that add visual translation by referencing other Taiwanese artists will be presented. Chen's works excavate art history from not-so-distant past, demonstrating once again that current life cannot be separated from politics and diplomacy.
