Mikuruma Festival

Folk song Yagaefushi (弥栄節) echoes in the town of thousand lattice windows
An annual festival held on June 19 and 20 to commemorate the virtues of Lord Maeda Toshinaga, the second head of the Kaga Maeda clan, and to pray for the prosperity of Takaoka castings. On the evening of the 19th, amidst the flickering lights of lanterns, a grand spectacle of flowing dances performed by over 1,000 dancers unfolds throughout Kanayamachi, resonating with the workshop song of Takaoka casting, 'Yagaefushi (弥栄節)'.
