Special Lecture 'Instructor: Masahito Inasaki, What is Art, Fine Arts, and Crafts in Japan'

What is Art, Fine Arts, and Crafts in Japan
Before the modern era, the words 'fine arts', 'crafts', and 'art' did not exist in Japan. How did these terms evolve in relation to their historical backgrounds? Masahito Inasaki, a traditional craftsperson designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and a Tokyo Skill Meister, who is associated with the long-standing storefront 'Keishindo Inasaki' in Nihonbashi since the Edo period, will explore 'art, fine arts, and crafts' in contemporary Japan by considering various histories from different countries. Targeted towards high school students and above.
