Ono-ya Jyu-nana-ya Kannon Matsuri
A festival derived from legend
About 200 years ago, a giant turtle lived in a pond, and when people crossed the pond, they mistook its back for a stone and stepped on it, causing them to drown. This festival began to mourn the spirits of those who died in the water. Every year, many stalls line the street, and various events such as spirit floating, Kagura performances, and fireworks displays are held.
