The historical background and significance of aircraft shelters
"Aircraft shelters" constructed around military airfields. Initially intended to protect aircraft from air raids, their significance eventually shifted to become facilities for concealing "decisive weapons" in preparation for the "final battle" on the mainland. This presentation will discuss the historical background and significance of aircraft shelters. Instructor: Keiji Morii (Kyushu Historical Museum). Capacity: 160 people.
