Kawakanjo ~ Putting wishes into lanterns ~

Kawakanjo is a traditional event in the Kamishima area, dedicated to calming the water spirits of the Kano River and praying for the safety of the region and the memorial of those who have suffered from water accidents. The LED lantern ceremony will be held at 19:30 on the day of the event. Lanterns filled with wishes will float gently into the night sky beside Jozan and the Kano River. Come and enjoy a fantastical moment. There will also be a lantern workshop. Write your wishes on a strip of paper and create a one-of-a-kind original lantern! There will also be a lively evening market and food trucks for both adults and children to enjoy!
