Exhibiting the masterpiece of Japanese ink painting, 'Pine Forest Screens'
This series exhibition introduces Hasegawa Tohaku (1539-1610), a representative Japanese painter active during the Momoyama period, from Noto Nanao. This 29th edition will display 19 works under three themes: 'Hasegawa Tohaku of the Noto period', 'Ink painting expressions centering on the Pine Forest', and 'Development of ink painting in his later years', including works miraculously saved during the Noto Peninsula earthquake and works from the Noto period held by disaster-affected temples.
