Shinno Bon Odori

A place for men and women to meet for 500 years, Shinno Bon Odori
When it comes to Bon Odori, dancing to musical instruments is common, but Shinno Bon Odori doesn't use shamisen, flutes, or drums at all. The dance proceeds with only the voices of the 'Ondo-dashi' on the yagura and the dancers' 'Kaeshi' below, making it a simple Bon Odori. In 1926, the father of folklore, Kunio Yanagita, said, 'This dance has a unique characteristic as a Bon Odori. It should be passed down to future generations.' It has been inherited until today.
