The "HaruMori" takes place during the Golden Week, starting with the Hayama Shrine Spring Festival and the Yakumo Shrine Festival on April 29. It is a spring custom to purify and cleanse sin and impurities, express gratitude for safety, and wish for further peace in the future. During the HaruMori period at Hayama Shrine, there will be the setup of a wind chime shelf for warding off evil and flower water, purification with evil talismans and evil-splitting stones, and distribution of limited Shuin (temple seal).
