Noboribetsu Onsen Gokuraku Street, Source Park, Hell Valley, and other special stages
8/30(Sat)

The Noboribetsu Hell Festival is based on the legend that on the last Saturday and Sunday of August each year, the lid of the hell's pot opens from Hell Valley in Noboribetsu Onsen, and the King Enma visits Noboribetsu Onsen with demons. There are performances featuring Noboribetsu drums, demon mikoshi carried by students from Noboribetsu Junior High School, demon dances, and more. One can’t miss the sight of the King Enma parading down Gokuraku Street in the hot spring town only on the day of the Hell Festival. Please check the program details on the website. The event may be canceled or changed due to bad weather or other circumstances.
