Kōjin-sama Autumn Opening

The only sokushinbutsu in Japan
Kōjin-sama is one of the few sokushinbutsu in Japan and has been watching over this land of Shinno for three hundred years. It is said to be the only mummy (sokushinbutsu) of the Zen sect in Japan and is considered a precious treasure, especially because it remains in such a beautiful form. The openings are held in spring and autumn and are open to everyone. On the day, various events are planned, including the Kōjin Runner's Grand Tournament, memorial services for Kōjin-sama, autumn festival rituals, donated performing arts competitions, karaoke contests, rice throwing, and a grand fireworks show dedicated to Kōjin-sama.
