Come and be amazed! Funakubo's On-tsutsuji Community

Funakubo Tsutsuji Park

Mid-May~Late May

The "Funakubo" (common name) is a boat-shaped depression that connects Mount Koetoshan (1,133m above sea level) and Okunono Mountain. About 1,200 azalea plants bloom across this approximately 3ha area. In June 1963, it was designated as a natural monument by the prefecture under the name "Natural Habitat of Azaleas in Funakubo," and in October 1985, it was designated as a national natural monument as "Funakubo's On-tsutsuji Community." During the period, it attracts about 10,000 tourists every year.
