Handmade market held in a picturesque Machiya
"I want to protect my work from sudden wind and rain!" This indoor handmade market was born from such voices. Every month, on the 2nd Saturday and Sunday, about 30 shops gather to sell handmade items. Fresh vegetables from Kamigamo, Kyoto on Saturday, and candy craft demonstrations & workshops on Sunday, with unique handmade items such as notebook covers and accessories made from Maiko's obi, bags, and more. The gallery, renovated from a traditional Machiya with over 200 years of history, is also appealing.
