Tsumekiri Jizo Dedication Fireworks Festival

The Jizo statue rises in the night sky
A fireworks festival with a history of about 350 years. Until the end of the Meiji era, it was held as a part of the Obon dance on the 16th, as a ritual to wish for the safety of the community and for a bountiful harvest. In the past, all the fireworks were homemade, and the preparations were quite challenging. Even today, the mechanism fireworks are made using traditional methods. The mechanism fireworks, star mines, and the Jizo statue fireworks floating in the night sky are a must-see!
