Toyokawa Summer Festival

The spirit that ignites the night sky of Toyokawa
This festival is held at Toyokawa Shrine in Nishimachi, Toyokawa, featuring events such as hand-held fireworks, karakuri fireworks, floats, mikoshi processions, and bamboo dances. The fireworks, in particular, have a history of over 400 years, and the unique 'rope fire', where over 300 fireworks are consecutively launched along two ropes stretched in a straight line over 100 meters along the approach, is designated as an intangible cultural asset of the prefecture. ■ Note Refer to the Toyokawa Shrine Office website.
