Takaouge Spring Azalea Festival

The City Flower of Tarumi: Azalea
Located at an altitude of 550m (the summit is 722m), Takaouge is situated in the northeastern part of Tarumi City. This area is home to around 100 species and 100,000 wild 'Sata Azaleas,' which bloom in spring and paint the entire mountain red and pink, attracting many flower viewing tourists. Moreover, due to its excellent panoramic views from the summit, it was designated as part of Kirishima-Kinko Bay National Park in March 2012.
