Umijinja Summer Festival
Pass through the “bamboo ring” and pray for good health
The summer festival at Umijinja is held over three days each summer, including "Marine Day." After the ritual for the summer purification on the first day and the evening festival, participants walk through the “bamboo ring” set up in front of the shrine until the third day, purifying themselves from sins and diseases, and praying for good health.

- Summer purification bamboo ring ritual on July 19 (Saturday) starting at 11 AM. Ends at 9 PM on all three days (complete closure). *Closing will begin a few minutes before. Be careful as you will not be able to stay on the premises.
