Hachioji Festival

Dance with the gods, a night of dreams
The "Hachioji Festival," said to be one of the premier float festivals in the Kanto region. Nineteen floats featuring intricate carvings make an appearance. During the night procession, the floats are illuminated by lights, creating a fantastical scene different from the daytime, and the sight of the procession is worth witnessing. Enjoy various traditional cultural highlights of Hachioji, such as the lion dance, designated as an intangible folk cultural asset by Hachioji City, the grand battle of Kanto drums resonating under the summer sky, and folk dancers in yukata gathering along Koshu Street.
