About 1,300 years ago, in the west of Japan, in the region of Kyushu and Chikushi, there was a capital known as 'the best city under heaven.' This was Dazaifu, an international exchange city that served as a hub for exchange with East Asia. The 'Western Capital' not only saw the influx and accumulation of culture, religion, politics, and people from East Asia but also served as a base for diplomacy and military activities for ancient Japan. This exhibition presents a glimpse of the charm of Dazaifu, the 'Western Capital,' through photographic panels.
