[Cherry Blossoms - Best Viewing Period] Lake Eniwa Cherry Blossom Park
A place of relaxation beloved by citizens
In the spring of 1982, 3,000 Eniwa citizens planted about 1,000 cherry trees on the right bank downstream of the dam to create a place of relaxation at 'Lake Eniwa,' which has since become beloved by the public as Sakura Park. The conditions (soil, temperature, etc.) for cherry tree growth at Sakura Park are poor, and several trees have begun to wither. As a result, several replantings have been carried out, along with efforts in weeding, pest control, and fertilizer application. As a result, each year, beautiful cherry blossoms (such as Chishima cherry, Ezo cherry, and Benisakura) have been able to bloom.
