Mezzotint is different from other etching techniques that cut sharply into the plate. It evokes thoughts from within the deep, pitch-black darkness that encompasses all opposites: chaos, mystery, yin and yang, ambiguity, eeriness, and instability, lifting them up with soft, infinite gray tones. By adding colors, collages, gold leaf, gold powder, and hand coloring to the mezzotint, the frame also contributes to the work's attire by incorporating designs. Dive into the mystical depths of a labyrinthine world.
