Children's Workshop "Let's Touch and Feel a Delicate Hairpin"

Learn about Edo period hair ornaments in a fun way
In the workshop, after a mini lecture by a researcher on hairpins, participants can actually handle a replica of the "Peony with Butterfly Coral Ornament Hairpin (ぼたんにちょうさんごかざりびらびらかんざし)" (from the late Edo period to the Meiji period) owned by the Pola Cultural Research Institute. Let's explore the weight that can be felt in your hands, the sound of hair ornaments swaying, and the color differences due to materials through this hands-on experience of Edo period hair ornaments in a fun way.
